Kansas in a Blizzard

Dave and I often comment on the weather, "Great weather, you could not ask for a nicer day." or "Man, it's hot." and "I am so happy we are not up north where it is snowing."
Well, I guess we heartily deserve to be on receiving end of some bad weather after all of my smug comments about how skillfully our schedule was arranged so that we would miss blizzard type weather. All I can say is - we came north too soon.

Kansas has only received a small portion of the precipitation that is normal for this area, I would have preferred precipitation in the form of rain. The kids and teachers in the area were happy with a snow day.

No Pictures for awhile...

I always like to include photos with each blog, unfortunately I no longer have a camera! While parked in a public lot near restaurants and hotels, our truck was hugely violated. Our video camera, laptop computer, camera, my daytimer, and many other small items that no one would even care about, were taken.
What was not taken... Dave's guitar, our sound equipment, or even anything having to do with the singing portion of the ministry.

So, while we are bummed about losing our stuff, we know it could have been so much worse. But, man, I miss my computer and what day is it?

Fly Navy

Upon entering the Navy Air Museum, you see these flags displayed. Now to the uneducated eye they just look colorful with a bit too much orange. BUT to the person who has asked one of the knowledgeable volunteers at the museum it says, "FLY NAVY."

Pictionary

Nearly fifteen years ago, while living in San Diego, Dave and I regularly got together with our friends Bob and Cyndi Myers to play Trivial Pursuit and, on occasion, Pictionary.

After all these years it is good to know that we can still out-draw the men at Pictionary. Let me just say, "women rule, men drool." We annihilated them. In all fairness, we were evenly matched...I have nothing to say about Trivial Pursuit.

The winning rounds for us:

Tilt

Miss Piggy

Figure Skating

Dave and I enjoyed our time with our dear friends. It is a comfort to know that even after all of these years we just picked right up and gabbed for seven days straight. Thank you, God, for giving us such a treasure.

Out My Window

We have collected a number of snapshots taken from the inside of haRVey looking out the window. It is exciting to move to a new location and I do love "moving day." While the world outside changes, I can still find my coffee cup right where it should be. Isn't that how it is with God as well - your life, your condition, your family, your challenges, everything pressing in may change, but God is right there where He always is - with you directing your path comforting and laughing with you through it all.

My Kids!

Since we have begun our travels, we have not seen our children. They came to Florida for a visit in late January! It was great to have all four of them with us. Our oldest, Alyssa, and her fiancee, Dusty. Our son, Travis and his girlfriend, Amber. It was a delight.

Dave forgot to hunker down.

haRVey in Dunedin, Florida

Our house is more level than this photo appears. The moss in Dunedin is beautiful. I am guessing it is not so beautiful when it gets clogged in your lawn mower. Which is why God made the moss to be nest building material. There has been an Osprey swooping around collecting moss and tree branches, (yes, branches) the past two days. This osprey lives on the football field at Dunedin High School, right behind the big lights and across the street from our current home.

While taking a nature walk on Honeymoon Island, no really, that is the name, we saw about 8 Osprey nests and lots of birds at home. The photo is not one we took because we cleverly left our camera at home, but this is a great re-enactment from the web.
