Kansas in a Blizzard

Dave and I often comment on the weather, "Great weather, you could not ask for a nicer day." or "Man, it's hot." and "I am so happy we are not up north where it is snowing."
Well, I guess we heartily deserve to be on receiving end of some bad weather after all of my smug comments about how skillfully our schedule was arranged so that we would miss blizzard type weather. All I can say is - we came north too soon.

Kansas has only received a small portion of the precipitation that is normal for this area, I would have preferred precipitation in the form of rain. The kids and teachers in the area were happy with a snow day.

No Pictures for awhile...

I always like to include photos with each blog, unfortunately I no longer have a camera! While parked in a public lot near restaurants and hotels, our truck was hugely violated. Our video camera, laptop computer, camera, my daytimer, and many other small items that no one would even care about, were taken.
What was not taken... Dave's guitar, our sound equipment, or even anything having to do with the singing portion of the ministry.

So, while we are bummed about losing our stuff, we know it could have been so much worse. But, man, I miss my computer and what day is it?

Fly Navy

Upon entering the Navy Air Museum, you see these flags displayed. Now to the uneducated eye they just look colorful with a bit too much orange. BUT to the person who has asked one of the knowledgeable volunteers at the museum it says, "FLY NAVY."

Pictionary

Nearly fifteen years ago, while living in San Diego, Dave and I regularly got together with our friends Bob and Cyndi Myers to play Trivial Pursuit and, on occasion, Pictionary.

After all these years it is good to know that we can still out-draw the men at Pictionary. Let me just say, "women rule, men drool." We annihilated them. In all fairness, we were evenly matched...I have nothing to say about Trivial Pursuit.

The winning rounds for us:

Tilt

Miss Piggy

Figure Skating

Dave and I enjoyed our time with our dear friends. It is a comfort to know that even after all of these years we just picked right up and gabbed for seven days straight. Thank you, God, for giving us such a treasure.
