Our clock has been through a lot these past two years. Each time we slide out we place the clock above the window. When we slide in we place the clock in a "safe" place for travel. Please note the dents and scars on the wood finish signaling we do not always follow through with the "safe" thing.
We have stumbled upon a way to do away with the wood finish. Last time we slid in and hit the road Dave said, "Did you secure the clock?" I replied, "I thought you did." So after many falls our clock gave up its frame for a new look which can be attached to the wall with tic-tac. A little worse for the wear, but keeps on ticking.

Texas Welcome
It is great to show up at your campground and have a note and map waiting for you. We are staying in the San Antonio area for a few days with plans to visit The Alamo and the River Walk.
Hidden Valley RV Park is located just south of San Antonio. Teri, the campground owner, has given us maps and tourist information - we have no hope of seeing it all.

Darrell Evans
While we were in El Paso at Cross Point Lutheran Church, Darrell Evans gave a concert Wednesday evening. We were in Las Cruces, NM that night, but we attended the practice session on Tuesday evening.
After the practice was over, Pastor Dan asked Dave to sing a few songs... one by one the band grabbed their instruments and joined him on stage for a wild unrehearsed rendition of "Big Lie" and "Good Dirt." It was fun for Dave to jam with some truly gifted musicians.

Tourist Traps
Because I have such a wonderful sister and brother-in-law, I was able to have a week in Cancun! My dear friend Linda and I spent time learning how to negotiate Mexico while having little comprehension of how to work the exchange rate of pesos on the fly, how to say anything really useful in Spanish, how to make sure the bus driver stops the bus within walking distance of your destination. In spite of our huge knowledge deficit, we had a blast. I will never forget my 51st birthday as it was spent in Cancun.
I took many photos, but in this blog I would like to present - tourist traps = little surprises that happen when you are not looking for them. Our adventures took us off of the main tourist areas and into the city where we found... tourist traps!
